Dr. Alaa Alhazmi
MD, FACS, ABS, ABOM, MBA
Dr. Alaa Alhazmi is a Saudi consultant in general, bariatric and metabolic surgery, with an almost exclusively robotic surgical practice. He has more than 15 years of experience as a consultant at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, where he led the Section of General & Upper GI Surgery, served as Deputy Chairman of the Department of Surgery, and directed the Metabolic Health and Weight Management Program.
He earned his medical degree with distinction from The George Washington University, completed general surgery residency at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virginia, where he was Chief Administrative Resident, and a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the UC Davis Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence in California. He also holds a Healthcare MBA from The George Washington University.
He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Alfaisal University College of Medicine and has a strong interest in digital surgery and the use of artificial intelligence to make care safer and more efficient.
